Ahh, the Ikea hack. The reason why I was sucked into the Pinterest vortex for about two hours last week. Because nothing productive needed to be accomplished that day. I admitted the other day that I had never been to Chick-Fil-A before until last Friday. I’m going to admit something else. I’ve never been to Ikea before. It really is probably for the best. I’m guessing I’d be sucked into the Ikea vortex for way longer than two hours. I do own a few things that were purchased online but have never experienced the Swedish amazingness and aroma of Swedish meatballs in person.
Tis the season for organization and spring cleaning. What better way than to get a little DIY on and do some awesome Ikea hacks?
I love this idea. Placemats on the wall as a cork board. Genius! I can see this in an office/craft space in a kids room to display their artwork or even in a kitchen as a family command center.
Moppe Drawers
You know my love for a card catalog. And I love this but sadly I can’t find these drawers on Ikea’s website anymore. I had visions of stacking a few on a base with legs and painting it and fulfilling my card catalog dreams. If anyone finds it please, please share with me!
What a great idea to make a little desk out of a dresser for a small space. I love the contrast of the inside paint to the white and the casters to move the desk out of the way when not in use.
This might be one of my favorites. It reminds me of an overly priced version, I’m looking at you Pottery Barn. It serves double duty of hiding jewelry and having a full length mirror. I need this now!
I can see this as a project table instead of in a closet like the one from Pottery Barn. All the cubbies are great for storage and the large top is the perfect work space. This was originally made using the Expedit series which is no longer available.
I love the touch of metallic to the stark white desk. I am now having dreams of this narrow desk in my office combined with the idea of the project table above for the most amazing work space.
These would be great in any space. Spray paint really can transform anything.
What a great little bench. Perfect in a kids room for a little reading nook and book storage. I can also see it in an entry way with baskets to store shoes, gloves and scarves.
Now I want to go do some serious damage at Ikea.
What’s your favorite hack?
