Binder and Dividers

A binder and dividers was my first taste at organization.  It was fourth grade, the binder was purple from Eckerds and the dividers were those manila colored ones with the multi colored plastic tabs that you can slid the white label in.  I have vivid memories of how much I loved that binder.  Thanks, Mom.  From that point forward I was hooked on office supplies and organization.  Enter the grown up version.  This is my third {yep, third} Martha Stewart Binder and I’m in love.  I love the color {all three are teal} and I love how luxurious it looks.  Thanks, faux leather.  Add some dividers with rewriteable tabs and you have the perfect organizing tool.  I use mine to keep Online Shop orders and products, blog posts, receipts, and my plan for YDP all in one spot.  It’s like a grown up Trapper Keeper with all your subjects in one spot.

Clear Stacking Containers

I reorganized my office in the spring and needed to purge some things and get rid of the ugly plastic drawer things I had.  Thanks to Google I found Consumer Crafts.  These clear 12 x 12 stacking containers are awesome.  They’re heavy duty plastic {think high quality take out container not Rubbermaid} and open from the top to easily grab what I need.  I love that I can see exactly what is in each container for quick access.

Rolling Cart

If you haven’t seen this rolling cart from Ikea you must be living under a rock.  It’s cute.  It rolls to you.  It holds a ton.  I keep things I need quick access to in my cart and love that I can bring it right next to me if I need to.

Jars

Using jars for storage and organization is nothing new.  I just love how easy it is.  I have jars for Sharpies, scissors and pencils and keep my washi tape, thread and sewing accessories in Bell jars.  So multi-functional and cheap too.  Hello dollar store!

Magazine Files

These were what originally drew me to Consumer Crafts.  I needed a solution for storing all my paper and these are perfect!  They’re white and clean and the 12 x 12 size is just what I needed to keep all my paper together where I can easily see it.  I have it organized by color and then the last file is for scraps.  If I want an even cleaner look I can turn them around so you don’t see the paper at all.

Ribbon Shelf

I’ve shared this before in the VERY early days of the blog {Monograms and Makeovers days}.  I just love this shelf that my Dad made for me.  I can see every roll of ribbon I own and keep it completely organized.

Drawer Dividers

Again, nothing new to organizing but they do keep everything exactly as you need it.  A little compartment for every little thing just makes my brain happy.  You can find these all over TJ Maxx and Home Goods.

Waste Basket

Another Home Goods find this cute little waste basket is the perfect spot to keep larger amounts of fabric rolled up, out of the way and free from creases from folding.

What are your favorite ways to organize your office or desk space?
